Honda City Malaysia preview: Jazz diesel India launch not in 2014

In Malaysia, the new Honda City will be offered with features like offered with the Indian variant, cruise control, rear AC vents, 6 airbags, start/stop button, audio controls on the steerin wheel, ECON mode, 8 speaker audio system, 7 inch color display screen, shark fin antenna, illuminated meter cluster, smart entry, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) and 16 inch alloys.

Speaking about the new Honda Jazz launch in India, we know that the 2014 model was showcased at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, and was expected to be launched by Diwali 2014. But, it is now revealed by Honda that the Jazz will be launched in the last quarter of this 2014/15 Financial Year. The news was revealed by Honda at the inauguration of the new car production plant in Tapukara, Rajasthan. This means it will be launched in the period of Jan-Mar 2015.

Making its debut at the 2014 Auto Expo, the new Jazz is already on sale in Japanese domestic markets where it has been wooing auto aficionados with its refreshed makeover and more aggressive design language. To bepositioned between Brio and Amaze, the new Honda Jazz comes in with a new front fascia, a new grille design and is longer and more spacious than its earlier counterpart. The new Jazz will measure 3.96 meters in length, a good 60mm more than its earlier model, while it will ride on an extended wheelbase of 2.58 meters and possess boot space of 390 liters. Ride and handling have been enhanced due to revised suspension and recalibrated steering.

Jazz is expected to come in with same engine options as seen on board the Amaze which will include a 1.2 liter petrol engine and 1.5 liter diesel engine. These engines are capable of 86PS and 109Nm of torque and 100PS and 200Nm of torque respectively, which could be tweaked to offer slightly better performance and fuel efficiency on board the Jazz. What will be launched in India this year from Honda, is the new Mobilio MPV.
