Honda Civic Mugen and Modulo revealed: Mobilio India launch by July

India will not get the Civic SE, but Honda does have a new car for India, Mobilio MPV. Showcased recently at the 2014 Auto Expo, Mobilio is slated to make its official entry into India by July 2014. The Mobilio which has already made its entry into Indonesian markets, will be soon going into production and will be launched in India where it will find a host of competitors in the form of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Nissan Evalia, Ashok Leyland Stile and Chevrolet Enjoy.

Honda Mobilio, a plush MPV, comes in with three rows of comfortable seating for upto 7 adults. Its interiors are comfortable and spacious offering sufficient head and leg room, while it measures 4.4 meters in length with 185mm ground clearance. Reflecting Honda’s philosophy of “Man Maximum Machine Minimum”, means that the upcoming Mobilio will have even more internal space as compared to that seen on board the highly successful Ertiga.

Honda Mobilio will receive a 1.5 liter, 4 cylinder iVTEC petrol engine also seen on board the City sedan while its diesel engine options will be in the form of a 1.5 liter iDTEC engine producing 100 ps and delivering fuel efficiency of 25 kmpl.

Being a budget MPV, the new Mobilio will share a number of components with other Honda cars which will allow the company to keep prices competitive. Targeting the Ertiga, Honda Mobilio could come in at an expected starting price of around INR 6.25 lakhs for its petrol variant and going all the way upto INR 9 lakhs for its top end diesel variant.

Coming back to the Civic SE in Malaysia with Modulo and Mugen bodykits, the company is offering the kit as a complete package. This reduces the price of new Civic SE variants with body kits drastically. If you were to purchase them separately, the Mugen Aerokit is priced at 7,600.00 MYR (1.44 lakh INR), while the Modulo full bodykit 4,670.00 MYR (88,399 INR). But if you purchase the new Civic SE with these kts installed, the Civic Modulo will cost you RM 1,800 while the Mugen kit will cost you RM 5,800.
