Honda CR-V diesel with 3 row seating India launch this year – 2018 Auto Expo

Honda Cars India plans launch of 6 new models in India by 2020. Of that, one of the first cars is the new CR-V wih diesel engine, which was unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo. The new SUV can be seen in a new design and increased dimensions contributing to added interior space and comfort.

2018 Honda CR-V gets angular headlamps, a front grille with chrome bar, flared wheel arches, wide front fenders and LED headlights with fog lamps and L shaped, split tail lamps with crystal LED lights.

It is seen in dual tone 18” alloy wheels, thick C pillars and chrome accents on windows. Increased dimensions now stand at 4,571mm length, 1,885mm width and 1,667mm height. Height has been marginally reduced as compared to the earlier model relating to better handling and road stability while increased length and breadth along with increased wheelbase now allows for a third row seating and a roomier cabin.

Interiors are noted with better quality material and soft touch plastics. The seats are large and comfortable and third row seating is better with easy ingress and egress. Technology too gets upgraded on the new Honda CR-V with a TFT LCD instrument cluster, 7” touchscreen infotainment display with navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It gets 4 way power adjustable front seats, a 1 touch power sunroof and dual zone climate control.

Honda CR-V will be powered by a 2.4 liter petrol engine and 1.6 liter diesel engine from Honda’s Earth Dreams offering 160 hp power. Engine specs will be revealed in detail closer to launch date. Prices of the Honda CR-V are expected to start at around INR 23 lakhs. It will compete with the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Skoda Kodiaq and Isuzu MU-X, where price is concerned.
