Honda wins their first ever Endurance Race in India

AVT Gold Cup Million Motorcycle Endurance Race, held at Madras Motor Race Track – MMRT, Chennai on February 24th and 25th, 2018 saw Honda 2 Wheelers participate for the first time. The Endurance Race included many categories among which were 4 Stroke Stock up to 165cc, 4 Stroke Pro Stock up to 165cc, 4 Stroke Pro Stock 300 – 400cc and Honda CBR250R.

The results of Honda CBR250R category winners included S Mathana Kumar and B Aravind in 1st position followed by Kishor VS and Anthony Peter in 2nd place and Senthil Jumar and AS Alexander in 3rd place.

4 Stroke Pro Stock up to 165cc category winners were Yashas RL and K Kannan in 1st place, A Amala Jerald and C Rajkumar in 2nd place and Sarath Kumar and P K Mithun in 3rd place.

Endurance racing tests the durability and stamina of both rider and bike. It is of 90 minute duration during which all classes will be on the grid at the same time competing against each other. Each team has two riders but only one rider will be racing at a time and the second rider can take his place as per strategy.

However, each rider has to complete a minimum of 20 minutes of racing before handing over to the second racer and the rider can ride continuously for 45 minutes.

Honda Ten10 Racing emerged as overall winners and even won in two categories – 4 Stroke Pro Stock up to 165cc & Honda CBR250R. S Mathana Kumar and B Aravind were awarded INR 50,000.
