Honda Jazz diesel is believed to launch in five variants – EMT, SMT, SVMT, VMT and VXMT, according to new information. Honda Cars India has commenced production at its plant in Tapukara, Rajasthan.
The comeback of Honda Jazz is expected to be bigger than ever in the history of the premium hatchback in India. Recent report by Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) proved the model’s safety capability. Jazz got 5 star rating by ANCAP, securing 36.58 marks overall out of 37. Good thing, same spec car will launch in India unlike its rival Hyundai Elite i20. The South Korean automaker distributes 5-star ANCAP rating capable version of i20 in Europe while India is left with 3-star safety model on purpose.
So Honda Jazz will have an edge over all of its rivals, until Maruti YRA makes appearance and proves otherwise. Even pricing-wise, Honda Jazz is expected to be competitive, as local sourcing of components has increased substantially compared to previous version which failed to capture the market partly because of high pricing.
