Honda Jazz / Fit electric car arrives in California

True to its promise, Honda Motor Company has delivered its first Fit EV (known as Jazz in India) to a Californian couple last Friday. Matt and Becky Walton will be the first to test their new electric vehicle as they were the first to show interest and sign up for lease of this vehicle on the company website. The lease of this Fit EV will cost them $389 per month and the couple was very excited at the prospect at being selected by the company to take possession of their first all electric vehicle. Though the vehicle will be in their possession for a limited time and for use in a limited area it has not deterred their enthusiasm.

According to estimates, Fit EV offers a range of 82 miles on a single recharge. It is highly efficient where energy consumption is concerned and clocks 29 kWh per 100 miles. Lease is limited to California and Oregon for the time being while this will be extended to the East Coast markets from early 2013. The couple who took possession of this Fit EV, plan to use this vehicle for everyday commuting. Earlier the couple possessed a Honda N600 sedan, a Z600 coupe and currently owns an Odyssey.

Honda Fit EV is regarded not only as an economical vehicle to drive but a fun to drive vehicle that can be fully recharged in a matter of three hours. It is available on least at the rate of $389 per month over a three year period which computes to its retail price of $36,625.
