Honda Cars India has commenced production of the new Honda Jazz from the company plant in Tapukara, Rajasthan. First manufactured units have made their way to South Africa where it is launched in only 1.2l iVTEC engine option.
2015 Honda Jazz receives a 1.2 liter petrol engine seen on the Brio and Amaze. But, unlike the latter two, on board the Jazz, this engine is tuned to deliver 90 PS power and 110 Nm torque, instead of 88 PS and 109 Nm torque it offers on the other two. Petrol engine on board Jazz is offered with either a 5 speed MT or a CVT with seven step steering mounted paddle shifters. Mileage claimed by MT variant is 18.7 kmpl while that by CVT Jazz is 19 kmpl.
Apart from petrol engine, Jazz will also be offered with a 1.5 liter iDTEC diesel engine. This engine is mated to a manual six speed gearbox, which is more smoother than the one in City sedan. The diesel Jazz claims to deliver fuel efficiency of 27.3 kmpl, which is the second best figure for any car in India (after Maruti Celerio Diesel).
Measuring 3,955 mm in length, the 2015 Honda Jazz sits on a 2,530 mm wheelbase while boot space is at 253 liters. It receives safety features such as ABS, EBD, dual front airbags while other features include a multifunction steering wheel, touchscreen with navigation, USB connectivity and Bluetooth.
