Production of Honda Jazz has already commenced in India.

Honda Cars India has replaced Mahindra to become the No 3 passenger car maker, behind Maruti and Hyundai. The Japanese brand has managed to achieve this success on the back of some critical new launches – like Amaze, City and Mobilio. In order to continue their growth in India, the company next has plans to launch much awaited all-new Jazz.

Honda Jazz launch in India is expected by June 2015. To be offered in diesel and petrol engine variants, the Jazz petrol will receive a CVT gearbox as seen on board the Honda City. Apart from this, there is also a possibility that Honda might offer the CVT unit with steering mounted paddle shifters. Honda Jazz hatchback will be positioned alongside Honda Amaze; and in between Brio and City. It will compete with the likes of Hyundai Elite i20, Volkswagen Polo and upcoming Maruti YRA (Fronx).

The new Jazz hatchback diesel variant will receive a 1.5 liter engine offering 100 PS peak power and 200 Nm peak torque. This is the same engine seen powering Amaze, Mobilio and City. Petrol variants will be powered by a 1.2 liter i-VTEC engine mated to a 5 speed manual transmission or a CVT gearbox. Diesel variant will only get MT. No 1.5l iVTEC is on offer. Expect price to be in the range of Rs 5-8.5 lakhs.

2015 Honda Jazz measures 3,599 mm in length and sits on a wheelbase of 2,530mm which is about 30mm more than its earlier counterpart. This is what adds to extra leg room in its interiors. Where design is concerned, the new Jazz receives various updates both on its exterior and interior giving it a sportier appeal sure to attract a younger and more adventurous set of buyers in the country.

New bumper, headlights, and grille are to be seen as will be new tail lamps, five spoke alloy wheels and rear airdams. Interiors receive start stop function, touchscreen infotainment and USB and Bluetooth connectivity while safety features will include side and curtain airbags, ABS, EBD, brake assist, vehicle-stability assistance, motion-adaptive electric power steering, alarm/immobilize, remote central locking and auto door locking.
