Honda Mobilio MPV launch July 2014 confirmed, Modulo kit?

Rest of competitors will include Mahindra Xylo, Nissan Evalia and Chevrolet Enjoy. Honda is looking to promote Mobilio only as a  domestic / family car, rather than a cab, despite their USP is expected to be best-in-class mileage. Petrol version of Mobilio is expected to deliver around 17 kmpl and diesel version might offer class leading 23+ kmpl.

Another USP of Honda Mobilio will be its looks, as it bears similar fascia on front as the Brio and Amaze, which have already been critically acclaimed. Speaking of looks, Honda is about to launch Modulo kit for Indonesia soon, and we have asked Honda India if they will launch the Modulo here as well. Honda India replied ” These are high end accessories. We are still studying if there is any demand for these accessories.”

The Modulo Kit contains several individual trims for interior and exterior to make the Mobilio more stylish and sporty. These accessories can be purchased as a package as well as selectively. The Prestige+ Modulo package priced for Indonesia at Rp 2,143,000 (Rs. 11,310), consists of a new front grille, door mirror cover, tail lamp motif and hood top garnish. Other accessories include protective front bumper, roof bumper, headlamp trim, door handle cover, exhaust pipe garnish and rear corner sensor.

There is also an internal package that includes illuminated step motif priced at Rp 1,037,000 (Rs. 5473), rubber mats Rp 428,000(Rs. 2259), interior panelling with a choice of metal or carbon Rp 1,427,000 (Rs. 7531), rear bumper trim Rp 514,000 (Rs. 2713), trunk tray Rp 616,000 (Rs. 3251) and few other accessories.

So with so many cards in hand, Honda India has a lot of scope to emerge leader of this segment. Price of Honda is not revealed yet, we expect the range to compete closely with Ertiga’s. The Mobilio could cost between Rs. 6.1 and Rs. 8.5 lakhs.
