Honda Mobilio RS variant will be sold in India along the regular variant. This is the first time Honda is going to offer an RS variant in the country. It will come in with an RS body kit which will include wider body panels, 15 inch alloy wheels, a new front grille and state of the art interiors such as sporty seats in faux wood finish, HID headlamps with DRLs, and 6.1 inch touch screen. Safety features will include ABS, EBD, Airbags, rear camera assist and start stop engine facility. This package, gives Mobilio a very stylish look, arguably the best the segment has seen.
Honda Mobilio will be powered by both diesel and petrol engine options which are shared with Honda City- 1.5 liter i-VTEC petrol engine offering 117 bhp power and a 1.5 liter i-DTEC engine offering 98 bhp power. Sadly, the RS will be offered with the same engine options, without any changes in power output. It is still not clear whether both these options will be offered on Mobilio RS as well, or it will be seen only with top-end diesel variant, which was on display during the media drive event in Nashik.
After driving the car in Nashik recently, we are sure that it will put a serious dent to Ertiga sales, and to some extent, sales of Innova are also going to be affected. Mobilio has everything to take on rivals – stylish in design, performance, and mileage. The only other factor which now remains to be seen, is its price tag.
