Honda recalls 1,338 units of Accord and CR-V in India

Honda India Recall Accord

Honda Cars India as part of  Honda global recall in respect to potential defects to passenger airbags has announced recall of some units of Honda CR-V and Accord. These airbag components are supplied by Takata Corporation and follows recalls by other automakers such as Nissan, BMW and Toyota.

Honda India Recall AccordHonda Cars India will be recalling a total of 1,085 units of Accord and 253 units of Honda CR-V to rectify these defects. The company will carry out preventive replacement of passenger side air bag inflators on board all these cars which have been manufactured in 2003 besides a single unit of the CR-V manufactured in 2002.

These cars have been reported to have faulty passenger side airbag inflators. Though there have been no reports of accident of injury, the company is resorting to recall as a precautionary measure. All affected parts will be replaced free of cost and will be conducted by company service dealers in a phased manner as Honda Cars contacts customers directly.

Honda Cars India website displays a page indicating which cars have been affected by this recal. Customers are requested to visit this page and check the same by entering a 17 digit Vehicle Identification Number.
