All electric powertrain Honda Urban EV Concept – Tokyo Motor Show 2017

Showcased at the 45th Tokyo Motor Show, Honda Urban EV Concept is based on an EV platform as is seen on the Urban EV Concept which was showcased at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. It gets power from an all electric powertrain and Artificial Intelligence Technology and comes in as a two door concept.

Exteriors:Noteworthy are the two doors, and round halo headlamps. It sits on large wheels and gets hinged doors and a cantilevered glass back roof design. Interiors are simple in design and spacious for upto four adults. It gets a wide display located on the top of the dashboard and lacked buttons and switches.

As is seen with the Urban EV concept, there is no word on either power or performance where the Sports EV is concerned. There are also no indications of when the Honda Urban EV Concept heads to production but as of now, Honda states that the concept could head to Europe sometime in 2019.

Dimensions: By size Honda Urban EV Concept isn’t a big car, and is indicative of what it will look like once production begins. It gives a fair idea of where Honda’s electric vehicle ventures are headed.

Technology: Honda Automated Network Assistant (HANA) service is apart of the concept’s package. It detects emotions behind driver decisions, and makes its own decisions from what it learns from driver behaviour and response. This would make it an interactive car as with most technology advancement today.

Interiors: Honda Urban EV Concept is simply by design. The rear-hinged doors have a bare look that adds to its simplicity with no contours or design lines to add or takeaway. The glass panels on doors and body are symmetric to give an overall panoramic feel. The zen design transforms into a minimalist dashboard , which reveals very little. With no knobs or buttons to turn too, it would seem logical that talking to the car could make it work. Interior seats are bench seats, more like bundling sofas on wheels, which would obviously take care of comfort, and offer a sense of space.
