Models such as the Activa scooter and the Livo motorcycles were out of stock at most dealerships across India following overwhelming demand during Dhanteras, considered as an auspicious day by the Hindus.
The company broke its own single day sales record, which was set last year at 1.65 lakh unit by registering sales of over 2.2 lakh units during this year’s Dhanteras. CB Shine and Dream series were much in demand while the newly launched Livo also saw a large number of takers.
HMSI dealerships opened as early as 5.00 am on Dhanteras with deliveries continuing to 11.00 pm on that date. Besides seeing such high sales on Dhanteras, HMSI also confirmed that sales over the Akshay Tritiya, Ganesh Chaturthi, Navratra were overwhelming proving that many customers prefer to make their two wheeler purchases over the festive season. The company sales on this particular date have resulted in a 33% growth as compared to total sales on the same occasion in the year ago period.
This overwhelming demand can also be attributed to the launch of 15 new two wheelers in 2015 which has caused a buzz in markets across the country with products to cater to the demands of every customer.
