Honda Two Wheelers hosts India Safety Week 2015

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has kickstarted ‘National Road Safety Week 2015’ with road safety awareness initiatives.

Honda conducted Safety Riding Pledges alongside 815 dealers, 1325 sub dealers, 1150 authorized service centres, 3 manufacturing plants, 11 zonal offices, and 5 regional offices to mark National Road safety week 2015. 25,000 people took the Road Safety Pledge. 10,000 folks chose to learn riding at riding trainers deputed in a single day.

Road Safety training and seminars were hosted, followed up by a ‘Road Safety Quiz’ and ‘Safety Slogan competition’ for customers. In Bhopal, a 2 day road safety initiative was hosted. Safety rally in Bhubaneswar saw over 250 customers attend. In Delhi, Honda felicitated 2023 Delhi women who learnt two-wheeler riding at its traffic parks in Roshanara Bagh and Baba Kharak Singh Marg (New Delhi) in 22 days through its ‘Dream riding’ initiative to learn riding in 4 hours. Hundreds of women attended the felicitation ceremony at Baba Kharak Singh marg traffic park.

Honda riding training stimulators are in use to increase safety awareness amongst people. Customers were educated on ‘First Aid’ delivery, safety tips for pedestrians, rules for cyclists. Yadvinder S. Guleria, Vice President-Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. says road-safety promotion is a continued commitment for Honda, and road safety week is a great platform to spread the message.

For Road Safety Week, January 11-17, 2015, Tata Motors in association with Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) and Society for Automotive Fitness and Environment (SAFE) organised ‘Rally for Driving, Traffic Rules and Road Safety’ from Worli Naka till Worli Sea Face and back. Govind Vishwanath Parmar, Senior PI, Worli Traffic Division (centre) was in attendance.
