Hyundai and Honda car sales report for November 2015

Hyundai Creta bookings have crossed 1 lakh mark. It has also become the most successful new SUV in India.

Hyundai Motors India reports a 6% increase in sales in November 2015 while Honda Cars India suffered a decline of 3.61%.

Hyundai Motors India sold a total of 57,661 units in November 2015 as compared to 54,290 units sold in November 2014 thereby registering a 6% increase in sales. Domestic sales during the past month were up 23% at 43,651 units as against 35,511 units sold in November 2014 with the Hyundai Creta being one of the major attractions while the i20 and Grand i10 also contributed its share.

Even as domestic sales surged, exports of Hyundai Motors India suffered a setback. Exports dipped 25% as the company exported 14,010 units in November 2015 as against 18,779 units in November 2014.

Last month also saw Hyundai India achieving a new milestone, registering 4 million domestic sales since the company set shop in the country back in 1996.

Honda Jazz is the newest car from HCIL, launched earlier this year.

Sales of Honda Cars India declined 3.61% during November 2015. Domestic sales during the past month declined with 14,712 units sold as against 15,263 units sold in November 2014.

Total sales in November saw Honda City sedan as the most popular with 6,342 units sold. Besides the Honda City, Honda Amaze was also in demand with 4,106 units sold while the company sold 3,367 units of Jazz hatchback, 461 units of Brio and 393 units of Honda Mobilio MPV besides 43 units of Honda CRV. Exports of Honda Cars India stood at 120 units in November 2015.

For Honda, cumulative domestic sales for the period April-November 2015 stood at 1,32,095 units, as against 1,16,705 units sold in the same period last year.
