Hyundai Motors India, like the other automakers in the country, have been going through a slowdown extended over the past many months. The company recently entered the compact SUV segment with the Venue which has been noting good demand but its other models such as the Santro, Grand i10, Xcent, Verna, Elantra and Tucson have been not doing so well. Left with piling stocks at company showrooms, the automaker has extended discount schemes and exchange offers to the month of August 2019.
The Hyundai Santro is being offered at a cash discount of Rs.15,000 and a Rs.20,000 exchange bonus. If the buyer is exchanging either the older Santro or Eon, then this exchange bonus extends to Rs.30,000.
The Hyundai Santro recently underwent a price hike with the line-up that now starts at Rs. 4.15 lakhs for the base trim, Rs.25,000 higher than the older pricing. It also saw the entry level D-Lite and Era variants discontinued.
Hyundai Grand i10 discounts extend to Rs.65,000 cash discount and Rs.30,000 exchange bonus. The company also gears up for the launch of the new Grand i10 NIOS on 20th Aug. It comes with increased dimensions and gets a BS VI petrol and diesel engine option. Cash discount on the Hyundai Xcent extends to Rs.60,000 while exchange bonus is at Rs.35,000. There is also a new generation Xcent in the making.
Buyers of the Hyundai Elite i20 through the month of August can avail of an exchange benefit upto Rs.20,000. Here too the 2020 Elite i20 has been spied on test. It will come in with several exterior and interior upgrades so as to allow for better competition against the Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
Hyundai Verna is also offered through this month with an exchange benefit upto Rs.30,000 while on the Elantra the cash discount extends to Rs.1.25 lakhs and exchange bonus upto Rs.75,000. The Elantra facelift was also seen in spy shots and is likely to be launched at the end of next year. The cash discount on the Tucson is at Rs.25,000 while exchange bonus goes up to Rs.75,000.
In addition to the above discounts, the company is also offering special discounts upto Rs.5,000 on the Santro, Grand i10, Xcent and Elite i20 for government employees and upto Rs.10,000 on the Hyundai Verna.
Hyundai is not offering any cash discount or exchange scheme on the Venue, Creta or Kona EV, all of which have been receiving a fair amount of attention among buyers in the country.
