Just like other carmakers, Hyundai has also witnessed significant drop in sales in recent months. Last month, YoY sales were down 14.8%, from 47,781 units in September 2018 to 40,705 units in September 2019.
However, there are signs of recovery as Hyundai’s MoM sales in September have improved by 2.5k units. To boost sales further during Navratri and Diwali, Hyundai has announced special deals on several of its cars.
Hyundai Santro had a good start when it was re-launched in India in October last year. However, Santro sales have taken a beating in recent months due to slowdown. Customers buying Santro get a range of benefits including Rs 30k cash discount, 20k exchange bonus and 5k corporate discount. People exchanging their old Santro or Eon car will get additional exchange bonus worth Rs 10k.
Hyundai Grand i10 sales had zoomed 85.06% (MoM) in August, with 9,403 units sold. Grand i10 was Hyundai’s bestseller in August 2019. One key reason was launch of i10 Nios, which comes with new features and upgrades. Grand i10 is currently being offered with 60k cash discount, 30k exchange bonus and 5k corporate discount. Nios customers will get only Rs 1,000 cashback if they book their car online using ICICI Bank card.
Hyundai Elite i20 Sportz+ and Asta are among the bestselling cars in Hyundai’s portfolio. However, sales have suffered in recent times due to slowdown. Customers buying Hyundai Elite i20 Sportz+ or Asta will be benefitting from 40k cash discount, 20k exchange bonus and 5k corporate discount.
Hyundai Xcent continues to be a popular small sedan, even though YoY sales have been majorly hit in August. Hyundai Xcent is being offered with cash discount of Rs 60k, exchange bonus of 30k and corporate discount of 5k.
Hyundai Verna has consistently ranked among the top three bestselling sedans in the country. It is available with 20k cash discount, 30k exchange bonus and 10k corporate discount.
Hyundai Creta sales have been hit in recent times due to launch of rivals such as Kia Seltos and MG Hector. Hyundai Creta 1.6 Sx, Sx Option and Sx Plus are available with 50k cash discount and 30k exchange bonus. Customers also get 4 year warranty and road side assistance for free.
Hyundai Elantra and Tucson are among Hyundai cars with least sales numbers. These are being offered with cash discount of Rs 1.25 lakh and exchange bonus worth Rs 75k.
Hyundai cars with no discounts or benefits include Venue, Creta 1.4 and Kona. Special offers are available for customers in Delhi on cars such as Santro, i10, Xcent, Elite i20, Verna, Creta, and Elantra.
