This financial year has witnessed quite a few high profile launches so far. While most cars couldn’t sustain the initial euphoria through the following months, a few new launches have managed to become runaway successes. Out of all the cars launched in 2015, the Hyundai Creta is by far most successful model with bookings exceeding 54,000 units.
According to SIAM data, the Creta which was launched on July 21 managed to clock 23,117 units till September with an impressive monthly average of over 7,200 units. The premium compact crossover from Hyundai didn’t waste any time in dethroning the Mahindra Bolero as the country’s best selling SUV. The Bolero registered sales of 16,105 units in July, August and September.
The TUV300 managed to outsell the Ford EcoSport in its first month of sales. The Honda Jazz which went on sale on July 8 emerged as the second most successful new product so far this year with sales of 19,178 units till the end of September. The Maruti S-Cross too did some impressive numbers but is far off from the Creta. The crossover which is being retailed exclusively through Nexa outlets has posted sales of 9,715 units till September end.
The Mahindra TUV300 which was launched on 10th of September ended the month with an impressive sales of 4,321 units, outrunning the popular Ford EcoSport in the process. We expect new launches like Ford Figo, Renault Kwid, Maruti Baleno to post some strong numbers in the months to come but Creta seems poised to stay on top.
