Hyundai Creta SUV priced from INR 8.59 to INR 13.60 lakhs received over 15,000 pre orders while bookings have reached the 18,600 mark as on date. The company aims at selling 5,000 units each month, which will give them a solid presence in the growing compact crossover segment.
Hyundai Creta which competes against the Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, Mahindra Scorpio and to be launched Maruti S-Cross boasts of an exterior that instantly appeals to buyers in the country. Sporting a hexagonal grille with triple chrome slats, vertical fog lamps and angular headlights with LED daytime running lights, the Creta sits on 16” or 17” alloy wheels while silver roof rails add to its contemporary styling.
Interiors are equally attractive in a dual toned colour scheme dominated by a 4 spoke multifunction steering wheel, matching dual tone dashboard and instrument console with color MID. Safety features include rear parking camera, automatic climate control, ABS, Electronic Stability Control with Vehicle Stability Management, hill assist control and height adjustable seat belt besides a host of others. Hyundai Creta, stands 4,270mm long, 1,790mm wide, 1,630mm tall and sits on a 2,590mm long wheelbase. It boasts of ground clearance of 190mm while fuel tank capacity stands at 55 liters.
Sporting both petrol and diesel engine options, the Hyundai Creta is powered by a 1.6 liter petrol engine offering 123 PS power and 151 Nm torque mated to a 6 speed manual transmission. The 1.4 liter diesel offers 90 PS power and 220 Nm torque mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox while 1.6 liter diesel offers 128 PS power and 260 Nm torque with options of 6 speed manual and automatic transmission.
ARAI has affirmed that the 1.6 liter petrol offers fuel efficiency of 15.29 kmpl while the 1.4 liter diesel is capable of 21.38 kmpl. Top of the line 1.6 liter diesel offers fuel efficiency of 19.67 kmpl when mated to a 6 speed manual transmission which goes upto 17.01 when mated to the automatic gearbox.
