Hyundai Creta price hike fails to arrest sales

Launched back in July 2015, Hyundai Creta is the most successful product ever to be launched by the company in above INR 10 lakh segment. Available in a choice of two diesel and one petrol engine option, Hyundai Creta is also one of the best-selling car in India today.

Winner of 26 awards, including the prestigious Indian Car of The Year 2016 award, Hyundai Creta achieved yet another milestone today when the company revealed that total bookings have crossed 1 lakh mark.

In addition to this, Hyundai also revealed that Creta has received over 5 lakh customer inquiries till date while exports have exceeded 16,000 units. All in just 8 months.

This success in spite of the fact that Hyundai Creta price has been increased at least three times in the same period. Which clearly indicates the popularity of the car among car buyers.

Priced in the range of INR 10-17 lakh on road, Hyundai Creta is targetted at new generation of buyers who are looking for a compact SUV with premium features and safety.
On the momentous occasion, Mr. YK Koo, Managing Director & CEO, HMIL said that it is not only India, but markets abroad as well where Creta has become an overnight success. Their export orders have crossed 28,000 units. He also said that in order to meet increase in demand, the company has increased Creta production to 13,000 units per month. Of this, 10,000 units are dedicated for domestic demand while remaining will be for export.

Export markets where the India-made Hyundai Creta is on sale includes – Colombia, Costa Rica, Peru & Panama in Latin America; Oman, UAE, Saudi Arabia in Middle East; Egypt, Morocco & Nigeria in Africa.
