Hyundai Creta Sales Cross 5 Lakh in 5 Years – New Creta Bookings at 65k

With sales surpassing the 5 lakh unit mark, Hyundai proclaims its leadership in the SUV segment

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has announced that the total sales till date of Creta SUV has crossed the 5 lakh mark in the domestic market. First launched in 2015, Creta has helped Hyundai become the leading SUV maker in the country.

Not only has the company noted good response to the Creta SUV but for all of its 4 new SUVs such as the Venue, Creta, Kona and Tucson. Total sales of these 4 SUVs during the April to July 2020 period stood at 34,212 units.

New Creta was launched in March 2020. It has helped Hyundai increase sales further, especially during these difficult times. Creta July 2020 sales stood at 11,549 units making it the best selling SUV for three consecutive months of May, June and July 2020.

The Hyundai Creta has been the recipient of a host of awards and is regaled for its stance, best in class features, powerful yet efficient engine options. Compared to the older Creta, the new Creta has set even better records. Since launch in March, more than 65,000 bookings have been registered by the new Creta. In India, demand is most seen for the Hyundai Creta diesel variant, which has amassed over 60 percent of total orders.

Interiors & Specs

Interiors of the 2020 Creta boast of the company’s latest BlueLink technology for Internet connectivity features. It also receives BlueLink Integrated Smart Watch App offering users access to remote engine start/stop, door lock/unlock, vehicle status information, door, fuel levels etc and vehicle alert with geofencing, speed, time fence and stolen vehicle updates.

Based on the same platform as the Kia Seltos, the second generation Hyundai Creta is powered by a 1.4 liter turbo petrol engine with a 7 speed DCT, a 1.5 liter petrol engine with a 6 speed manual and 1.5 liter diesel engine which receives a 6 speed manual gearbox and 6 speed automatic. It receives 3 driving modes of Eco, Comfort and Sport along with 3 traction control modes of Snow, Sand and Mud – making it ideally suited to any type of terrain conditions.

The Hyundai Creta is priced from Rs.9.99 lakhs and takes on the Kia Seltos as its prime competitor. Apart from being on sale in India, the made in India Creta is also exported to 88 other countries around the world.
