The Hyundai Creta is definitely setting the sales chart on fire as the newly launched compact crossover managed to clock 7,437 units in August 2015. This impressive performance has made it India’s best selling SUV and that too by a huge margin.
The Mahindra Bolero finishes at a distant second with 4,804 units while the Maruti S Cross settles for third spot with sales of 4,602 units. The sales and booking figures indicate that Hyundai India has won the compact crossover battle against the market leader Maruti Suzuki.
The Creta emerges as an attractive crossover with SUV-like road presence which goes well with prospective customers. The good looks are complemented by well appointed interiors, a lengthy equipment list with several upmarket features, a comprehensive suite of safety systems and a wide range of powertrain options including a diesel automatic.
The strong sales momentum is set to be sustained for several months as the crossover is sitting on confirmed orders for around 40,000 units. Depending on the location of purchase and variant, the waiting period is reported to extend to several months.
