The new Hyundai Creta SUV enters production and bookings have opened at Rs.25,000

Hyundai Motor India Ltd has commenced production of the new Creta SUV at its Sriperumbudur facility, near Chennai. They have also opened bookings at their dealerships, as well as online. Official launch is slated for 17th March 2020.

New Hyundai Creta variants include the E, EX, S, SX and SX(O). There will be 8 colour options of Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Phantom Black, Lava Orange, Titan Grey, Deep Forest, Galaxy Blue, Red Mulberry. Dual tone options of Polar White and Lava Orange with contrasting black roofs is also on offer.

New Creta will get Advanced BlueLink, Hyundai’s latest in-car connectivity technology which will offer 54 connectivity features. There will also be a new smartwatch integrated BlueLink app through which you can control various features with ‘Hello Blue Link’ voice command.

The features to be controlled will include the sun roof, seat ventilation system, climate control and also dialling contact numbers and tracking various sports activities. The Smartwatch also allow users to track vehicle status in terms of engine, tyre pressure, fuel levels and in car air quality, etc. It gives geo fencing, speed, time and stolen vehicle notifications via BlueLink connected car services.

The new Creta will see exterior updates such as boomerang shaped LED DRLs, a wide front grille, projector headlamps, a floating roof design and LED tail lamps. It sits on premium diamond cut alloy wheels. The interior updates show off a black and beige layout, a 4 spoke Hyundai steering wheel, ventilated seating, a 10.24” touchscreen infotainment system, fully digital instrument console and slim air vents with chrome accents. Top variant will get all black interiors with red stitching. Hat tip to Vijay for sharing his images.

Engine specifications on the new Hyundai Creta will see three engine options that include a 1.5 liter U2 CRDi Diesel, 1.5 liter MPi Petrol and 1.4 liter Kappa Turbo GDi Petrol, all of which are BS6 compliant. The 2020 Creta will also receive 3 drive modes of Eco, Comfort and Sport and 3 traction control modes of Snow, Sand and Mud.

With estimated pricing set to start off from Rs.10 lakhs and to go up to Rs.17 lakhs, the new Hyundai Creta will face up to competition from the Kia Seltos, Renault Duster, Nissan Kicks and Maruti Suzuki S-Cross.
