Hyundai Eon has been a winner ever since it was launched in India back in Oct 2011. Based on the Santro platform, this small and compact model was recently launched in Chilean markets and will be followed by more Hyundai models in the coming year.
A modernized exterior and comfortable interiors seen in the new Hyundai Eon need to be given credit while the vehicle will be offered in two variants each with driver side air bags, CD player with aux and iPod connectivity, body colored bumpers, spoilers and fog lamps. The top model will be launched with air-conditioning, power windows and central locking facilities.
Though small and compact, Hyundai Eon does pack a punch as it is powered by a 0.8 liter three cylinder petrol engine. This engine offers 55.2 bhp and is mated to a five speed manual gearbox. It measures 3495mm and sits on a 2380mm wheelbase. Fuel economy is pegged at 21.1 kmpl.
The Eon sold in Chile, is the one exported from India. Hyundai launched this compact five door vehicle in India at the end of 2011 where it is available in six trim levels with prices varying from Rs.2,69,999 for the base variant to Rs.3,71,869 for the top end variant.
