2020 Hyundai Verna Facelift BS6 Launch Price Rs 9.3 L – 11 variants, 3 engines

New Hyundai Verna comes with best in segment warranty option of up to 5 years in India

One of the most attractive and feature-rich sedans in the country, all-new Hyundai Verna has been launched today. The original launch was planned in March before BS6 norms kicked in, but that was postponed due to coronavirus pandemic.

With its styling updates, 2020 Hyundai Verna Facelift BS6 looks sportier than its predecessor. Key changes include the trendy hexagonal grille with chrome-infused mesh design, new LED headlamps, triangular fog lamp housing, reworked front bumper, and sleek secondary airdam. The side profile is distinguishable with its coupe-inspired gently arching roofline and dual-tone alloy wheels. Rear profile is largely the same with the exception of restyled tail lamps and updated bumper.

Interiors have undergone significant revisions and they now look more premium in comparison to the outgoing model. Key features on the inside include an updated dashboard, glossy piano black accents, central AC vents, electric sunroof, and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and voice recognition. Comfort and convenience features include wireless charging, ventilated front seats, rear privacy curtain, and electric sunroof.

Prices range from Rs 9.3 lakhs to Rs 15 lakhs. All prices are ex-sh. New Hyundai Verna gets three BS6 engine options that include one diesel and two petrol engines. The 1.5-litre petrol unit generates max power of 115 hp and max torque of 144 Nm. Engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a CVT unit.

The 1.5-litre diesel engine delivers 115 hp / 250 Nm and comes mated to either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic unit. Most powerful engine is the 1.0-litre turbo petrol motor that generates 120 hp / 177 Nm. It is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT).

This is the first time that an executive sedan will have a comprehensive range of internet connected smart features across safety, security, remote access and vehicle relationship management.

Already available with Hyundai Venue and new Creta, BlueLink tech offers advanced features such as stolen vehicle tracking, stolen vehicle notification, tyre pressure monitoring system, remote engine start / stop, remote vehicle status, monthly vehicle health report, maintenance alert, geo-fence alert, speed alert, etc.

Designed for enhanced safety, new Verna comes with features such as vehicle stability management, front parking sensors, driver rear view monitor, hill start assist control, and rear disk brakes. Bookings for new Hyundai Verna are already open. The updated sedan will take on rivals such as Maruti Ciaz, next-gen Honda City, Skoda Rapid and VW Vento.
