Maruti Suzuki India Limited once again dominated the list of Top 10 selling cars in November 2015 with 6 of its models in the list.
As always, Alto, DZire and WagonR commanded top spots. Surprisingly, the fourth Maruti model which was missing from the top half of the list was Maruti Swift. Salws of Swift dipped to 11,859 units as compared to sales of 17,900 units in November 2014 causing it to lose its position among best sellers. This is due to the canabalizing by Baleno. Most Baleno buyers were Swift buyers, who have upgraded to a newer and bigger car.
Newly launched Maruti Suzuki Baleno hatchback, the second car to be sold through Maruti Nexa premium dealers entered the list of top 10 selling cars in November. Priced at INR 4.99 lakhs, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno stood in 6th position with sales of 9,074 units during November 2015.
Maruti Celerio jumped up one spot with sales in November 2015 at 6,956 units as against 4,926 units sold in November 2014.
The car which replaced Maruti Swift from the top half, was Hyundai Grand i10. The small car from Hyundai, which was launched in September 2013, has beaten the Swift in monthly sales race for the first time, registering sales of 12,899 units.
Hyundai Elite i20 lost its 5th position as it witnessed decline of 22% with 8,264 units sold during the month as against 10,552 units sold in November 2014. Hyundai Eon retained its No. 8 spot with total sales of 7,154 units in November 2015 as against 6,626 units sold in November 2014.
Honda City was the only car from Honda on the list of best sellers in November 2015 and was positioned at No. 10. Sales of this mid-sized sedan dipped 13% from 7,252 units in November 2014 to 6,342 units in the past month.
