Hyundai Grand i10 sales have crossed the 1.75 lakh mark. Celebrating the milestone, the South Korean brand has announced a new offer, which they call celebration benefit. Hyundai Celebration Benefit entitles new Grand i10 buyers for benefits of upto Rs 26,000.
Launched in September 2013, Hyundai Grand i10 sales crossed the 1 lakh mark in just 10 months, and now 1.75 lakhs in 20 months. Before the launch of new i20 Elite, Grand i10 was the best selling Hyundai car in India (yes, their cheapest offering, Eon is not their best-seller). Post the launch of Elite i20, which happened in August 2014, Grand i10 lost its title of Hyundai’s No 1 car to Elite i20.
Launched at a starting price of Rs 4.29 lakhs, Hyundai Grand i10 competes head-on with the best selling car in the segment – Maruti Suzuki Swift (which recently celebrated milestone of 13 lakh sales). Grand i10 is offered in a choice of petrol and diesel engine options.
Petrol engine of Grand i10 is in the form of a 1.2l MPi offering 83 PS power, diesel engine is a 1.1l unit offering 71 PS power. There is also a 1.0l petrol unit offering 69 PS power. This engine is also on offer with the BLUE DRIVE LPG variant, offering 67 PS.
New Grand i10 is a completely new car. Much more feature-rich and advanced than the older i10, Hyundai also exports Grand i10 to Europe from their plant in India. For FY 2015, Grand i10 was the most exported Hyundai car from India.
