Hyundai i20 Cross spied on test, receives a new exterior paint in brown. This colour shade is very similar to that of Fiat Avventura’s brown shade. Considering that the Elite i20 hatchback, does not come with this brown shade, it is possible that Hyundai India decided on offering this new shade after a customer survey. (P.S. Fiat Avventura in brown shade is very much in demand).
In sync with this new exterior colour, Hyundai i20 Cross interiors could also be matching with same colour. This includes dashboard and upholstery. It will receive safety features such as dual front airbags, ABS and reverse parking assist. It will also be seen with feature such as keyless entry, seat belt pre-tensioners and a state of the art infotainment system with internal memory and Bluetooth.
New Hyundai i20 Cross will sit on larger alloys, but the one in the spy shot above are same 16″ alloys which are seen on hatchback. This could be because this might be a low or mid variant, as larger alloys will only be on offer with top-end variant. Apart from this, it will receive black lower body plastic cladding with contrasting silver roof rails while ride height has been increased.
Set to compete with Toyota Etios Cross, VW Cross Polo and Fiat Avventura, the new Hyundai i20 Cross will come in two engine options. Diesel engine will be a 1.4 liter 4 cyl mill offering 88.7 bhp peak power. Petrol mill will be a 1.2 liter VTVT engine offering 82 bhp power. While the former will be mated to a 6 speed manual transmission, it will be a 5 speed manual that the later will receive. Pricing of the Hyundai Elite i20 Cross is not yet confirmed, but estimates put it in the INR 6.5-9 lakh category.
