2020 Hyundai i20 Global Debut Delayed Due To Corona Virus

Hyundai had expected to launch the new gen i20 in India by mid 2020

The 2020 Hyundai i20, supposed to make its global debut at the Geneva Motor Show later today, is now delayed due to concerns over Corona virus pandemic. Along with the 2020 i20, Hyundai was also to showcase the facelifted i30 and Prophesy EV concept at Geneva Motor Show today. Officials revealed that the Geneva Motor Show has been cancelled.

In addition to that, Hyundai’s South Korean operations have taken a hit. Operations at the No. 2 Ulsan plant has been temporarily shut down following one of the 300 employees from the paint shop found infected with the Corona virus. Rather than disinfecting the paint shop, the company took the decision to shut down the plant itself. Hyundai has 5 plants at the Ulsan facility and it is from this plant that also produces the Kona EV.
