Hyundai India to go all guns blazing at 2016 Delhi Auto Expo

With the 2016 Auto Expo a few days away, manufacturers who are going to participate are busy preparing for the big day. One of them is Hyundai India, the country’s second-largest carmaker who is planning on delivering an experience, in the grandest possible fashion.

Hyundai India pavilion at the 2016 Auto Expo will be so huge that it will be divided into nine zones – with each zone showcasing multiple products/cars. For example, one of the biggest zones at Hyundai India stall will be the Premium Zone, where they will display their all-new Genesis brand – a brand which they have launched to take on the likes of Mercedes Benz, Audi, BMW, and Jaguar.

Then there is the EcoZone, where Hyundai’s green technology will be showcased. In this zone you will also find Sonata PHEV, making India debut. Launched in the US in Nov 2015, the new Hyundai Sonata PHEV has a driving range of 965 kms. It is powered by a 2.0-liter petrol engine and a 50 kW electric motor, together with generating 202 hp.

Technology zone will feature Hyundai’s latest engines which are not only most powerful in the segment, but also the most economical. In this zone, visitors will witness their new 1.0 liter Kappa engine, 1.4-liter turbo GDI engine, 8 speed AT and 7 speed DSG.

Sports Zone will have the i20 Active with Fluidic 2.0 sculpture. New Hyundai i20 Active is the country’s best pseudo-crossover as far as sales are concerned. A safety zone will display Hyundai’s latest in vehicle safety for passengers, as well as pedestrians.
In addition to different zones, Hyundai India will also showcase its existing line-up of cars and upcoming cars. Among their existing line-up of cars, it will be Creta which will be leading, while in their upcoming car section, it will be the Tucson SUV.

Hyundai India will be launching the Tucson SUV later this year. To be slotted in between the Creta and Santa Fe, Tucson sales are expected at 20,000 to 30,000 units annually.

More details will be revealed on 3rd Feb when Hyundai India opens its pavilion to the media. Stay tuned to Rushlane as we bring you a detailed coverage from the show floor.
