India’s second largest car maker, Hyundai revealed that during month of June 2016, the company sold a total of 55,713 units. This when compared to figures of June 2015 (when the company posted 52,602 units), is a growth of 7%.
Speaking about domestic sales figures, Hyundai India sold 39,806 cars in the domestic market in June 2016, as compared to 36,300 cars sold in June 2015. This is an increase of 9.7%. Exports during the month stood at 15,907 units, as against 15,762 units, registering 0.9% growth.
As has been the case over the last few months, Hyundai’s trio of Grand i10, Elite i20 and Creta continued posting impressive sales. The trio is winner of Indian Car of the Year 2014, 2015, and 2016, respectively. Apart from these three, Eon and Xcent also added good numbers to the overall sales figures.
Aiming to overtake Maruti Suzuki India in the future, Hyundai has announced that they will launch at least two new cars every year in India. This, and increasing their dealer network will help them in achieving their dream.
For 2016, the company will launch Tucson and Elantra, both have been spied on test in India. Tucson will be placed below the Safa Fe, and will take on the likes of Mahindra XUV500 while the Elantra will compete with the likes Toyota Corolla, Skoda Octavia, etc.
