Hyundai India registers 15 percent growth in Jan 2012
India’s second largest car maker and largest car exporter, Hyundai Motors India registered a 15% increase in sales for the month of January 2012. HMIL sold a total of 49,901 units in Jan 2012, compared to 43,316 same month last year. Of the total sales, 33,900 units were sold in the domestic market while 16,001 units were exported in Jan 2012. In Jan 2011, Hyundai Motors exported 13,010 units and sold 30,036 units in the domestic market.
Happy with the growth figures, Mr Arvind Saxena, Sales & Marketing, Hyundai Motors India, said, “The year seems to have started on a positive note, domestic sales are showing some buoyancy. But we will have to cautiously watch how this momentum picks up in the months ahead.”
Segment wise, Hyundai Motors India sold a total of 44,960 units in the A2 segment which comprised of Eon, Santro, i10 and i20 while in the A3 Segment which comprises of Accent, Verna and Santa Fe, Hyundia India sold 4,941 units.
