Hyundai Motor India Ltd registers 7.6% growth in sales in July 2012
Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) is the second largest car manufacturers and largest automobile exporter in the country. 6 models of passenger cars are currently marketed by HMIL across India. The A2 segment comprises of the Eon, i10, i20 and the Santro while the A3 includes car models like the Accent and Verna. The Sonata Transform has been delegated to the A5 segment while the SUV segment takes care of the Santa Fe.
Keeping up with the growing demand for mobility and transportation option, HMIL has registered an impressive 7.6% increase in domestic sales. Exports sales saw an increase of about 5.1% this July as compared to last year. Cumulative sales saw an increase of 6.4% against last July.
According to, Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Vice President, National Sales, HMIL, market demand for vehicles has been suppressed due to factors like interest rates, rise in fuel prices and inflation. He also made it clear that unless these factors are not seen to, there will not be any change in the automobile market.

Hyundai domestic sales up by 7.6%
New Delhi, August 1, 2012: Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), the country’s second largest car manufacturer and the largest passenger car exporter registered aggregate sales of 52,845 units (49,666 units) in July, up 6.4% from the corresponding month last year, domestic sales were 27,585 units (25,642 units) up 7.6% and exports were 25,260 units (24,024 units) up 5.1%.
Commenting on the sales, Mr Rakesh Srivastava, Vice President, National Sales, HMIL said, “The overall market demand is suppressed due to general inflationary trend, high fuel prices and interest rates. Unless any major triggers get activated, market sentiment is not expected to improve very much.”
The segment-wise cumulative sales for July 2012 are: A2 segment 44,274 units (Eon, Santro, i10, i20); A3 Segment 8,454 units (Accent and Verna); A5 segment 32 units (Sonata); SUV 85 units (Santa Fe).
