Hyundai reveals Genesis hybrid sedan concept in New York
Hyundai, under their newly formed luxury car brand Genesis, is showcasing an entry level sport sedan concept. Genesis New York Concept sports similar lines to the existing Genesis G90 and G80, and could provide an idea on what the G70 may grow into once it goes into production. Genesis G70 will take on BMW 3-Series, and others in the segment.
Clearly there’s no concrete insight into the future of Genesis G70 just as yet. The Genesis hybrid sedan Concept preview focuses on its exterior design, which is being termed as luxurious and modern.
The showcase in Ceramic Blue wears a long hood, prominent upright grille and front fenders, horizontal headlamps, short front overhangs, longer rear overhangs, elongated taillights, and a low rear deck.
The Genesis New York Concept features an advanced information control unit with curved display from LG. A 4K display houses driver switches, multimedia functions, analog driver instruments, and an open steering wheel design.
Fully wrapped in leather on the inside, accents of anthracite contrasted with tan leather on the doors and seats. There’s suede on the headrest. Copper and aluminum inserts are used. Human Machine Interface (HMI) concept offers new user experience and function control.
The hybrid uses a 2.0 GDi engine mated to a 8-speed automatic transmission under the hood to generate 242 HP (245 PS) and 260 lb-ft (353 Nm).
