
Hyundai India reported flat growth in December 2025, though the Venue compact SUV has clocked over 55,000 bookings
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) was the 4th best-selling automaker in India in Dec 2025. Currently commanding a 10.5% market share, Hyundai sales in Dec 2025 stood at 42,416 units. The company reported flat growth as compared to 42,208 units sold in Dec 2024 while MoM sales ended lower by 16% as against 50,340 units sold in Nov 2025.
Hyundai Sales Breakup – Dec 2025
Creta continued to lead Hyundai’s sales chart, with Creta and Creta EV combined registering 13,154 units in December 2025. This marked a modest 4% year-on-year growth over the 12,608 units sold in December 2024. However, on a month-on-month basis, sales saw a sharp 24% drop compared to 17,344 units recorded in November 2025.

At second place, Hyundai Venue posted sales of 10,322 units during the month. The recent introduction of the new Venue helped sustain buyer interest, thanks to added premium features and equipment upgrades. Venue sales grew marginally by 1% year-on-year, though they declined by 11% compared to November 2025.
Hyundai Exter and Aura followed in quick succession with 5,612 and 4,925 unit sales respectively. Exter sales were up by 6% YoY but dipped 2% on a MoM basis. The Aura too saw positive YoY growth at 28% to 4,925 units from 3,852 units of Dec 2024 but fell by 14% MoM as compared to 5,731 units of Nov 2025.

Demand declined for both the Hyundai Grand i10 and i20 to 4,010 units and 3,339 units. Sales of both these hatchbacks fell into the negative, on a YoY and MoM basis. Hyundai Alcazar (579 units) and Verna (406 units) too suffered steep de-growth.
Hyundai IONIQ 5 sales up 188% in Dec 2025
The Hyundai IONIQ 5 all-electric premium SUV has witnessed outstanding demand with sales growth at 188% to 69 units in Dec 2025 from 24 units sold both in Dec 2024 and Nov 2025. At No. 10 on sales charts was the Hyundai Tucson. The company recorded 0 sales in Dec 2025 though there had been 33 units sold in Dec 2024 and 6 units sold in Nov 2025.

The company now looks ahead to 2026 when it plans to bring in several new models and some facelifts. These could include the new Verna facelift, Bayon crossover, i20 facelift, Exter facelift and new Tucson, along with a new compact electric SUV.
