Hyundai Santro ad promotions missing Shah Rukh Khan as brand ambassador

Hyundai has officially launched the new Santro hatchback in India. At launch, Shah Rukh Khan was seen posing on stage with the new Santro where he also spoke about the new hatchback and his long standing relationship with the brand.

However, despite being projected as the Brand Ambassador, Shah Rukh Khan is not to be seen in any advertisement campaigns of the new Santro. The company now states that they will be focusing more on the consumer and the marketing strategy of this new product targets buyers in small towns and rural areas.

This can be seen on the 40 second long TVC showing off the young family of three zipping through the states of India in the new Santro. Promotional hoardings are erected at 267 locations in rural areas in local languages while TVCs are being aired in rural areas to create awareness for this new product.

Promotional activities are also being organized along with local celebrities in rural areas by Hyundai’s 374 dealerships networks while mobile vans spread the news of the resurrected Hyundai Santro in smaller markets. Watch the Hyundai Santro TVC below.

Hyundai Santro in its new avatar is priced from Rs 3.89 lakhs to Rs 5.64 lakhs. Online bookings opened earlier this month and the company has already garnered 23,500 bookings to date. Offered in 7 colors of Typhoon Silver, Polar White, Stardust (dark grey), Imperial Beige, Marina Blue, Fiery Red, and that Diana Green, the new Hyundai Santro is presented in five variants and petrol and CNG options.

Hyundai Santro is slotted between the Eon and Grand i10 and is powered by a 1.1 liter, 4 cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine offering 69 bhp power and 99 Nm torque mated to a 5 speed manual or 5 speed AMT gearbox. The CNG version is factory fitted and makes 59 bhp power and 84 Nm torque mated to an 8 kg CNG tank mounted in the boot of the Santro. This CNG version offers 30.48 km/kg fuel efficiency.
