Hyundai AH2 has been officially named as the new Santro. It will launch in India on 23rd October 2018. Online bookings open tomorrow. First 50,000 customers will get the chance to book the car for an amount of Rs 11,100. Online bookings are open till 22nd Oct.
The new Hyundai Santro is set to be one of the most advanced entry level hatchbacks in India. It gets a new 5 inch touchscreen infotainment system. This new touchscreen infotainment system will get Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone apps which are standard offerings on all premium cars sold in the country.
Continuing with its tall boy format, the new Hyundai Santro will get a distinctive radiator grille, LED DRLs and a broad C Pillar. Its interiors will be spacious and the focus will be on more comfortable rear seats.
Hyundai will also offer the new Santro with rear AC vents, a first for its class. With reverse camera, two air bags and ABS offered as standard across all variants of the new Santro, the upcoming hatchback will comply with India’s new safety regulations – Bharat New Vehicle Safety Assessment Program (BNVSAP).
Hyundai Santro will be powered by a 1.1 liter petrol engine. It will also be offered with factory fitted CNG option. The engine will deliver 69 PS at 5500 rpm and 99 Nm at 4500 rpm. It will be mated to 5 speed manual as well as AMT gearbox. On board the CNG variant, the engine will deliver 59 PS and 84 Nm. Mileage claimed on manual as well as AMT is 20.3 kmpl.
New Hyundai Santro sales per month could be in the region of 10,000 units. It will rival the likes of Maruti WagonR and Tata Tiago. Price will be revealed on 23rd Oct. It is expected to start from Rs 3.6 lakhs. Please go through the image gallery below for full details of the new Santro.
