Hyundai India, the second largest car maker in the country, has posted their highest ever monthly domestic sales. During the month of Oct 2016, Hyundai India sold 50,016 units in the domestic market, which is an increase of 6.4% as against 47,015 units sold in October 2015.
Of the over 50k units sold by Hyundai in October 2016, 15k were delivered on a single day – 28th October on the occasion of Dhanteras. Exports declined from 14,686 units to 14,356 while cumulative sales increased from 61,701 units to 64,372 units.
Riding high on the success of Tiago, Tata Motors has continued their growth story for yet another month. In October 2016, the Indian company posted domestic passenger vehicle sales of 16,311 units as against 12,747 units sold in October 2015. This is an increase of 28%.
Cumulative sales of Tata Motors (passenger + commercial) stood at 52,813 units, as aginst 43,486 units sold in October 2015. This is a growth of 21%.
Speaking about VW India, the German brand posted a solid 70% increase in sales, thanks to the all-new Ameo compact sedan. In the domestic market, VW India sold a total of 5,534 cars as against 3,255 cars sold in October 2015. This amounts for a 70% increase in sales.
Toyota India reported a decline in car sales for the month of October 2016. The company registered sales of 11,651 units in the domestic market for Oct 2016, as against 12,403 units in the registered in October 2015.
