Hyundai gets ready to launch new cars in China and Japan

Hyundai, besides gearing up for launch of ix25 in China, is about to debut an all new sedan at the 2014 Busan International Motor Show this week. The 7th Busan International Motor Show gets off to a flying start later in May where in there will be a total of 198 cars from 22 brands on display. 3 cars will be making their world debut while 5 models will be making their Asian debut along with 20 cars which will be showcased in Korea for the first time.

The new Hyundai large sedan which will make it’s world premier at the 2014 Busan Motor Show (Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO)), will be placed between their Azera and Genesis sedans. To be powered by a 3.0l engine, new Hyundai sedan is as of now codenamed as AG. Launch of this sedan will take place by third quarter in South Korea, reveals Korean JoongAng Daily.

Speaking about the Hyundai ix25, it will be in the compact crossover segment and will come in at prices starting from 140,000 Yuan going upto 170.000 Yuan (INR 13.17 lakhs to INR 16 lakhs). The ix25 will measure 4,270 mm in length, 1,780 mm in width, 1,630 mm in height while it will sit on a 2,590 mm wheelbase.

Engine specifications on board the upcoming Hyundai ix25 will include 1.6 liter and 2.0 liter naturally aspirated engines, both mated to 6 speed manual gearboxes. Based on Hyundai’s Fluidic v2.0 design language, the ix25 will be produced in China by Beijing Hyundai JV. Hyundai ix25 measures more than 4 meters in length and will be a strong contender to both Duster and Terrano in India. However, the company has not announced any intentions of bring  ix25 to India and will concentrate instead on launch of new i20 in the country.
