Hyundai Tucson for India will debut at 2016 Delhi Auto Expo

Hyundai Tucson will be priced at around INR 20 lakhs and will be slotted between the Creta and Santa Fe.

To be displayed at the 2016 Auto Expo in February, the new Hyundai Tucson will be launched later in 2016 in India. It will be brought in as a CBU. The Indian version will be powered by a 2.0 liter CRDi diesel engine offering peak power of 182 hp and peak torque of 400 Nm mated to a 6 speed automatic transmission.

Sporting Hyundai’s Active on-Demand AWD system, the 2016 Hyundai Tucson will be seen with fresh exteriors and revamped interiors. Exteriors will boast of a hexagonal front grille, efficient LED twin projector headlamps and integrated LED daytime running lights. Sitting on an extended wheelbase, interior space will be at a premium while for the first time the Hyundai Tucson will get the option of 19” alloy wheels.

Inside the 2016 Hyundai Tucson, receives premium and soft touch materials while a leather pad is see located near the driver’s right knee offering better comfort during longer rides. It gets a full length panoramic sunroof as an option while infotainment is via a 5” color LCD display with rear view camera and touch screen options.

A 405 watt AM/FM Sirius XM audio system with a total of 8 speakers is also part of its infotainment features. Space is at a premium and cargo room can be extended with rear seats in a 60/40 combination while reclining is adjustable depending on cargo and passengers.

There is no dearth of safety features on board the 2016 Hyundai Tucson. Advanced safety feature include Automatic Emergency Braking, Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Warning System, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross-traffic Alert, Lane Change Assist, Backup Warning Sensors and rearview camera. However, it is not yet certain whether all these features will make their way onto the India spec model.
