Hyundai Venue booking order crosses 20,000 in record 25 days

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), the country’s second largest passenger car marker, has secured more than 20,000 bookings for their newest car – Venue compact SUV. This comes at a time when the auto industry is going through its worst period in years.

Such huge booking numbers of the Venue gives hope to manufacturers and dealers in such troubled times. These bookings have been received ever since bookings opened on 2nd May while the Venue was formally launched on May 21, 2019.

Launched at an entry level price of Rs.6.50 lakhs, it is the company’s first compact SUV to be launched. It is its attractive pricing that has found favor among buyers in the country. Hyundai Venue is based on a new gen platform, which will most likely be used by next gen Grand i10. Venue gets a new design, inspired by new Hyundai cars. It enters a segment that sees rivals such as the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and Mahindra XUV300.

Hyundai Venue, offered in five variants – E, S, SX, SX+ and SX (O), boasts of a new signature grille, split headlamp set up with LED DRLs on top and headlamps positioned under it. Borrowing some inspiration from the Creta where its side design is concerned, the Venue sits on 17” machine cut alloy wheels, gets roof rails and design elements to the rear include LED tail lamps, new rear bumper, faux silver skid plates and black plastic cladding all over its body.

Interiors of the Hyundai Venue are packed with both comfort and safety features. It sports a new steering wheel design in a three spoke unit, a tablet like touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and is the first Hyundai product in India to sport Bluelink connected car technology that uses internet connectivity via an eSIM from Vodafone Idea.Its safety features include a total of 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, reverse camera with parking sensors and a sunroof.

The Hyundai Venue is powered by a choice of two petrol and 1 diesel engine. The 1.2 liter petrol engine offers 83 PS power and 115 Nm torque mated to a 5 speed manual. The 1.0 liter petrol engine is capable of 120 PS power and 172 Nm torque mated to a 6 speed manual or 7 speed dual clutch automatic transmission while the 1.4 liter diesel engine offers 90 PS power and 220 Nm torque mated to a 6 speed manual.
