Hyundai Venue bookings cross 50k in 60 days – Creates new record

The Hyundai Venue, launched in India on 21st May 2019, has been generating tremendous response from buyers ever since booking opened on 3rd May 2019. Offered in three engine options and priced between Rs.6.50-11 lakhs, it has been noted that bookings have crossed the 50,000 unit mark with inquires to the extent of 2 lakh+ units. However, from the variants, it was seen that it was the Hyundai Venue with BlueLink connectivity technology that received over 55% of bookings.

Mr Vikas Jain, National Sales Head, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. said, “The Hyundai VENUE has been able to strike a chord with the iGen customers who seek future technology, Space, Comfort, Safety and Ergonomics with new age style. We are extremely overwhelmed by the enthusiastic response and milestone created by VENUE with 50,000 bookings within sixty days of launch.

We are glad that Indian customers have shown their faith in the Blue Link Connected Technology as out of the total VENUE delivered so far, over 55% of the cars are Blue Link Enabled Variant. Out of the 50,000 bookings, over 35% of customers have preferred the Hyundai’s in house Best in Segment -DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) Technology.”

Hyundai Venue is India’s first fully connected SUV catering to the demands of the present generation of buyers in the country who demand nothing but the best in terms of connectivity and technology. These features, coupled with an efficient powertrain and competitive pricing have all worked in favor of the new Venue to amass bookings to this extent.

The brands first model to come in with “BlueLink” connectivity solutions, the Venue consists of 33 connected features out of which 10 are India centric. It gets remote start/stop feature, remote climate controls and remote door lock/unlock along with Find-my-Car function. It also gets live car tracking, geo fencing and speed alerts which can be accessed via a smartphone app that connects to the SUV.

On board technology also includes a multifunction steering wheel, a 20.32cm touchscreen AVNT with HD display and wireless phone charging. This connected technology not plays an important role in appealing to buyers for its outstanding features but it also offers better safety to owners as it keeps thieves at bay. The car can be tracked due to its stolen vehicle tracking devise and immobilization feature with the Blue Link Connect Centre able to assist the police to find your car by tracking it and immobilizing it as soon as it stops.

Hyundai Venue is powered by petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.0 liter, 3 cylinder turbocharged petrol engine offers 118 bhp power and 172 Nm torque mated to a 6 speed manual and dualclutch gearbox. The 1.2 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine offers 82 bhp power and 114 Nm torque mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. The Venue diesel engine is the same 1.4 liter, 4 cylinder unit seen powering the entry Hyundai Verna and Creta; offering 90 hp power and 220 Nm torque. Hyundai Venue competes with the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and the Mahindra XUV300.
