Hyundai Venue SUV for India debuts – 2 petrol, 1 diesel, 1 auto, 2 manual options

Hyundai Venue SUV has made its global debut. Being a global SUV, the debut has taken place across continents, simultaneously in India and New York. India launch of Venue will take place on 21st May 2019. Bookings are already open in India. India is the first country where the Venue will be launched. US launch will take place by end of 2019.

Hyundai Venue will come in with several segment first features which will set it apart in terms of competition. The Hyundai Venue is expected to be priced between Rs.8-12 lakhs which will allow it to compete efficiently with rivals such as the Ford EcoSport, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon and Maruti Brezza. Venue measures 3995 mm long, 1770 mm wide, 1590 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2500 mm.

Its exteriors show off a boxy design with Hyundai’s signature cascading grille, split headlamps with turn indicators placed on the upper half while the bumper gets integrated LED DRLs around the headlamps. Other exterior features includes flared wheel arches, roof rails, dual tone roof, 16” diamond cut alloy wheels fitted with 205/60 section tyres which will be specific for the model in India.

Hyundai Venue will come in with the brand’s Blue Link connected car technology. It will be seen with an eSIM from Vodafone Idea offering a host of telematic services along with cloud based data, artificial intelligence and voice commands which have been optimized for Indian English. The new Venue will be the first connected car with technology that consists of 33 services out of which 10 are India specific.

Specifically for safety concerns of the India buyers, the Venue will also receive technology such as real time vehicle tracking, share the destination, valet alert, time fencing alert, idle alert, vehicle theft tracking and immobilization, speed alert and panic notifications. It will also receive an advanced Smart Connected system allowing the primary owner to connect with other family members or friends during an emergency.

In India, it will come in with 2 petrol and 1 diesel engine options. It will get 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine which delivers 120 PS power and 171 Nm. Transmission options are 6 speed MT as well as 7 speed Dual Clutch Transmission for the new petrol engine. It will also get two 4 cyl options in the form of 1.2 liter petrol 4 cyl and 1.4 liter 4 cyl diesel engine. Latter is borrowed from Verna. The 1.4 liter diesel delivers 90 PS and 220 Nm via 6 speed MT while 1.2 liter petrol delivers 83 PS and 115 Nm via 5 speed MT.

As can be seen above, Hyundai Venue will be loaded with features, never before seen in the segment. In fact, it will come with more features than any other car on offer in Hyundai, including the likes of Creta, Elantra and Tucson.

On offer are sunroof, cruise control, air purifier, wireless charging, voice recognition, rear ac vents, Arkamys sound system, cornering lamps, cooled glove box, 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, Brake Assist, ISOFIX, touchscreen system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, etc. More details in the photo gallery below.
