Hyundai Verna GL petrol variant is priced at INR 7.17 lakhs while its diesel counterpart comes in at a price of INR 8.35 lakhs. Verna GL petrol variant receives a 1.4 liter VTVT engine offering 105 bhp and 138 Nm torque and mated to a five speed manual, while the diesel trim is powered by a 1.4 liter CRDi unit offering 89 bhp and 224 Nm torque and mated to a six speed transmission.
Features on board the new Verna GL include keyless entry, manual AC, electrically adjusted outside rear view mirror, driver information display, power steering with tilt function and rear center armrest with box. Infotainment features include 2 DIN MP3 player with AUX-in and USB Port along with 4 speakers with tweeters. Being a base variant and being affordably priced, the new Verna GL trim is devoid of a host of safety features.
With this new launch, Hyundai expects to capture some of the lost markets and increase sales which has seen a 14.9% decline in the month of February. During the past month, the automaker sold a total of 46,505 units as against 54,665 units in February 2013.
