Hyundai India has augmented its Xcent lineup by introducing new variants with Factory Fitted CNG kits. The prices are not announced yet but orders can be placed at dealerships in the regions where CNG is available.

The Factory Fitted CNG kit benefit from the Dual ECU Dynamic Sequential Technology (DEDST) which employs dedicated fuel injectors for the greener fuel. This helps achieve optimum combustion thereby minimizing the power drop. The CNG kits are covered under a best-in-class warranty of 3 years/ 1,00,000 km. The CNG tank is placed in the boot.

Xcent facelift was launched earlier this year.

The 1.2-litre Kappa four-cylinder petrol engine has been retained. The motor is capable of putting out 83 PS and 114 Nm of torque while running on petrol. Expect a marginal drop in the output in CNG mode. The motor is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. New Hyundai Xcent CNG is aimed at covering a wider audience base and taking advantage of the festive season. It’s to be noted that the Grand i10 is already available in an LPG and CNG variant.

Offeredin two trims – T & T+, the Hyundai Xcent Prime (as it is called in Hyundai speak) comes with SLF – Speed Limiting Function. This new feature will help fleet owners to keep a check on the speed of their drivers.

Xcent CNG will not get touchscreen infotainment, steering mounted controls.

Hyundai is looking at an internal record breaking sales volume this fiscal, all thanks to the super successful Creta compact crossover, and the new Verna sedan. The company is running at its maximum capacity utilization limit.
