Hyundai has been tweaking the variant lineup of its portfolio to optimize the cost and align its features list in line with the customer demand. After deleting a few features across Elite i20 variants, the South Korean automaker has made changes to equipment level of Xcent compact sedan Eon small car.
Since Ford Figo Aspire is launching in few days’ time, Hyundai India has decided to upgrade Xcent’s features list to maintain its appeal. Now, even base and S trim are offered with ABS as standard. The SX trim has been eliminated while the S (O) trim is fitted with standard dual front airbags as as well as reverse parking sensor with camera on internal rear view mirror.
While the sub-4 metre sedan gains features, Eon has lost some. The D-Lite Plus trim has been stripped off body colored bumpers and chrome front grille. The Era Plus variant eschews central locking. No changes were made to rest of the trim levels.
The restructuring of the variant lineups comes alongside a marginal price hike which has been effective since August 1. The hike is applied to all the models except the newly launched Hyundai Creta crossover.
