The newly launched Hyundai Grand i10 based Xcent compact sedan is priced aggressively. It offers promising specs and features. It goes head on in the sub 4 metre compact sedan segment against class leading Maruti Swift based Dzire and Honda Brio based Amaze. Check out the spec comparison sheet below:
Hyundai Xcent offers compelling set of features in the segment like push-button start, dual front airbags, anti-lock brakes, USB-ready audio system with 1GB internal storage, Steering-mounted audio controls, electro-chromic mirror, rear air-con vents, central arm-rest with two cup-holders on the rear seat and rear parking camera.
Honda Amaze has front dual SRS airbags, front seat belt pretensioner with load limiter, immobilizer, ABS with EBD, Wave Key, high mount stop lamp and driver seat belt reminder, power foldable ORVMs, rear seat center armrest with cup holder, air conditioner with heater, tilt steering, keyless entry, rear defogger and many of the like.
Maruti Swift Dzire features air conditioning with climate control, 4 speaker stereo with CD drive, Bluetooth and USB integration, Steering mounted audio controls, Front dual SRS airbags, Driver seat height adjustment, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist and Rear wash & wipe.
Among petrol variants of the trio, Xcent seems to have a marginal edge over the other two in terms of max torque with least peak power whereas the Amaze sweeps the competition with its bigger and more powerful diesel engine.
Hyundai Xcent has the biggest boot and fuel tank in the segment but cabin space is not as welcoming as Amaze or Dzire. In terms of price, the Xcent is easier on the pocket as for both petrol and diesel variants.
