ICE-powered 2026 Staria is 5,253 mm long, which is significantly more than Hyundai’s current biggest electric car – the 5,060 mm long Ioniq 9
Hyundai will be showcasing a range of products and concepts at the upcoming Brussels Motor Show. A recent teaser posted by the brand has the caption – “Biggest EV yet”. The teaser image hints at a strong possibility of the new model being a fully electric version of the just unveiled 2026 Staria MPV. Let’s check out the details.
Hyundai’s biggest EV – What to expect?
While the teaser image does not reveal much, the positioning of the LED DRL signature and Hyundai logo looks similar to that of Staria Electric test mule spotted earlier. The recently unveiled 2026 Hyundai Staria ICE and its electric version share the same basic design. Only EV-specific differences are there such as a closed-off grille and charging socket at the front.

The lower grille appears more refined on the EV. Headlamp housings have the same basic shape, but the ones on the ICE Staria have a blacked-out profile. It is possible that Staria EV could get a new set of alloy wheels. Other features such as powered sliding rear doors are expected to be the same.

At the rear, Staria MPV has a flat tailgate with a large windscreen, prominent roof-mounted spoiler and vertically-stacked tail lamps in pixel format. The electric Staria is expected to use a similar set of features.
Iveco eMoovy connection
Interestingly, an electric version of the Staria MPV already exists in the form of Iveco eMoovy. The Iveco eMoovy is a fully electric light commercial vehicle, developed as part of a strategic industrial partnership between Hyundai and Italy-based Iveco Group. eMoovy is available in most of the major European markets. Earlier this year, Iveco had sold its commercial vehicle business to Tata Motors.

Iveco eMoovy was launched in 2024 and its presence reveals that the Staria MPV can support electric powertrains. Battery options for Iveco eMoovy include a 63-kWh and a 76-kWh unit. With the larger battery pack, the range is 320 km (as per WLTP cycle). Variants with the smaller battery pack have a range of 265 km. Iveco eMoovy comes with a single electric motor that generates 218 PS.

Hyundai has stated that its largest EV will use state-of-the-art electric technology, which may include an advanced 800-volt architecture. This setup already exists with the eMoovy. When charged via a 350 kW DC fast charger, the eMoovy can load 100 km in just around 10 minutes. The same setup can be used with the Staria EV, benefitting family users as well as fleet operators.

Hyundai Staria India launch?
Hyundai had showcased the ICE-powered Staria at the 2025 Bharat Expo. As the luxury MPV segment is witnessing robust sales and has strong potential for future growth, it is possible that the Staria MPV could be launched in India. It could work as an alternative to the Kia Carnival. As for the electric Staria, it is unlikely to be offered here anytime soon.
