1. Tata Sierra
Launched for a starting price of Rs 11.49 lakh (Ex-sh), Tata Sierra is probably the most memorable vehicle to be launched in 2025. It offers a big car feel while staying within the 4.3m size bracket. It packs a host of features, creature comforts and gizmos never seen from Tata Motors before. Even the new 1.5L Petrol engines debuted with Sierra, making it the most important car for Tata Motors in the past couple of years.
2. Mahindra XEV 9S
Even though it is better equipped than XEV 9e, Mahindra XEV 9S starts at a lower price point of Rs 19.95 lakh (Ex-sh). After experiencing this SUV in Bengaluru, we realised that XEV 9S has all the ingredients to make it the best-selling Mahindra Origin SUV as it offered more features, creature comforts and versatility.
3. Tata Harrier EV
Harrier EV is the first mainstream EV to be launched in India to offer a single motor RWD layout as standard and an optional dual motor AWD layout for more performance offering up to 500 Nm of torque and genuine off-road capability. Thus making Harrier EV one of the most important car launches in India, ever.
4. Hyundai Venue & Venue N Line
With the new Venue and Venue N Line, Hyundai upped its game in the sub 4m SUV segment significantly. We saw a major shift in equipment, quality, materials and overall fit and finish. With new features like Level-2 ADAS and dual 12.3-inch screens, new Venue sets itself apart from most other sub 4m SUVs.
5. Mahindra Thar Update
While a facelift is still underway, Mahindra Auto decided to bring an update to India’s favourite lifestyle SUV, Thar. As part of this update, Mahindra introduced many sought-after real-world upgrades like the larger touchscreen, internally openable fuel filler cap, centre armrest, rear AC vents, power window controls on doors and many more. These upgrades made a huge impact on how a Thar owner uses it everyday.
6. Maruti Victoris
The flagship SUV from Arena lineup was launched in 2025 in the form of Victoris. 8. Skoda Kylaq
When INDIA 2.0 strategy was getting longer in the tooth, Skoda Auto came up with INDIA 2.5 strategy which spawned Kylaq sub 4m SUV. 9. Kia Syros
After the success of Sonet, Kia India launched Syros, which marked a major step in the brand’s journey in the country. 10. Hyundai Creta Electric
Creta is not just a vehicle anymore, as it has evolved into a phenomenon. Hyundai launched an electric version of Creta at the beginning of 2025 and it is a big deal, immediately making it one of India’s most important cars ever. With up to 473 km promised on a single charge and a 0-100 km/h sprint in 7.9 seconds, Creta Electric emerges as a practical, yet fun package.
