Thousands of visitors from different reaches of the nation reached Vagator, Goa to take part in the event. On Day 1 itself, there were more than 6,000 participants who had a blast with like-minded people.
The venue of IBW 2019 witnessed multiple motorcycle launches, global debuts, showcases, unveils and announcements. The showcase of the much-awaited KTM 390 Adventure, reveal of the new India-bound Husqvarna motorcycles and other interesting products such as the all-electric Orxa Mantis.
Triumph Motorcycles India launched their top-of-the-line Rocket 3 R longitudinally in-line three-cylinder sports cruiser on the Indian market at an impressive price tag of Rs 18 lakh ex-showroom.
IBW 2019 also saw participants paying homage to female bikers / champions; from globetrotters to motorsport athletes. Many women from the community came forward to share their experiences and thoughts on the art of motorcycling. To keep the visitors on the edge, KTM Factory stuntman Rok Bogoros, along with FMX 4Ever professional stunt team, conducted a spectacular show. There was also a stunting competition with Rok Bogoros as the main judge.
India Bike Week has always been a place for a creators’ meet-up. The sixth edition of IBW saw many popular figures from Instagram and YouTube meeting and greeting their beloved fans and followers. In addition to the numerous factory and brand events, customisation shops and performance garages from major cities in India have their hubs open to showcase their best.
Besides all the fun and entertainment, there were track events aimed to find the best talent and identify the best two-wheeled machine in the country. The IBW Hill Climb, Harley-Davidson Flat Track, Moto Mob and Big Rock Enduro Training saw the participation of the finest from the Indian motorcycling scene.
As a noteworthy initiative, India Speed Week 2019 was open to riders from all backgrounds, regardless of what they ride or how well they can ride. However, only those who wear a helmet are allowed to step inside the venue. After all, safety is a high priority for any true rider. There are dedicated helmet lockers for visitors in order to prevent the hassle of carrying them around everywhere.
In short, India Bike Week is definitely worth attending if you are a biking enthusiast. If not this year, there’s always next year.
